Special date with my son to see The Nutcracker
I jumped at the chance when my 8-year-old son asked me to take him to see CB's Nutcracker performance this year. He had seen Tulsa's Ballet's Nutcracker when he was 4-years-old, but didn't really remember much about it. The dancers are so talented, the costumes are beautiful, and the sets are just perfect for setting the mood for each scene. The orchestra's playing of Tchaikovsky's music made me wish I had a seat in the orchestra pit. It did NOT disappoint when we went to see the 12/26 matinee performance of Triumph - Band's Nutcracker. My son actually remembered more about the plot than I thought after telling me his music class at Cougar Run Elementary watched The Nutcracker movie recently. After all, my sports-loving son thoroughly enjoyed it. Even football players take ballet classes, he said. So to sum up our experience, it was a special mother-son date to see a classic performance of The Nutcracker. Yes, they do, and the athletic ability of the dancers definitely shone through!
